A framework that I came across in 2023, while listening to a podcast around improving reading speed, focus.

There are 3 key questions that one can ask at the start of a book or a chapter. That ways, you read the book/chapter with an intention to search for the answers to the questions.

This approach lads to more focus, better recall, and have a plan of action to experiment/implement some of these learnings.

Learnings improve recall further.

For example, I am reading “Founding Sales” by Peter Kazanzy

At the start of each book & chapter, ask yourself these 3 questions.

  • How can I use this? e.g. this can help me improve my sales skills in a new domain
  • Why must I read this? e.g. to crack SMB segment for XYZ
  • When can I use this? e.g. schedule these in your calendar like over next quarter, I need to reach out to YY clients, convert Y% of them
